According to ICANA, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf met and talked with Ibrahim Boughali, speaker of the People\u2019s National Assembly (lower house of Parliament), on the sidelines of the 17th meeting of the Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation member states, which was held in Al Jazeera, the capital of Algeria, on Sunday evening (January 26).
\nIn this meeting, referring to the key role of the parliament in the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mr. Qalibaf said: \u201cThe government and parliament of Algeria and Iran must have a new and specific plan for relations, one of the solutions of which is to try to hold a joint economic commission in a short time and in the high level.\u201d
\nHe stated that Iran currently has a large volume of trade exchanges with Oman, the UAE, Turkey, Qatar, Iraq, Pakistan, Azerbaijan, Russia and China, and its economic balance with these countries is more than $80 billion. This is while the trade relations between Iran and Algeria is only $100 million which is unacceptable.
